Divine and Mythic have secured spots in the North American closed qualifier for the Americas Minor after topping the third open bracket.
Divine fought their way through the bracket with ease, not allowing any of their opponents more than seven rounds in their run to the semi-finals. Despite the team recently losing one of their main stars in the form of Rahul "curry" Nemani, Divine still prevailed in a three-map series against Rap Gang by utilizing Collin "wrath" McSweegan to earn a berth to the closed stage of the qualifier.
The opposite side of the bracket had its fair share of setbacks as the Brazilian side of Yeah had traveled to the United States to compete, but were disqualified in their second round match after it was determined that they had not requested to play in the region in advance.
Additionally, after Recon 5 and Mythic made a run to the semi-finals, the latter team were awarded a map one forfeit win due to Recon 5 still competing in the final round of the third FLASHPOINT open qualifier. The deficit proved to be Recon 5's downfall as, although they managed to even the series score with a win on Dust2, Mythic proved the better side on Vertigo by pulling out a 16-12 map victory.
The team list for the North American closed qualifier for the Americas Minor currently looks as follows:
The final open qualifier will run from February 12-13 and award the final two spots in the closed stage of the event.
